What do guys feel about the trend in women no longer cooking at home?
I have seen that a lot of my friends do not cook meals at home and that the husbands seem to have taken over the kitchens everywhere. How do you all feel about that? Isnt it nicer for the woman to do the cooking?

depends on the household; if both are working, they can share cooking and cleaning responsibilities. If only the man is working, it would be nicer for the woman to do most of the cooking. Guys are hungry when they get home from work.

Women's today have a tendency of not being able to cook and sew anymore, even ironing is something of the past. I have learnt to do all this - what's going on girls ?????

As is the case in my house, i love going to the supermaket.
Choosing the ingredients and the prep is all part of the fun for me. And my skills have improved over the years to the extent i ended up 3 times in the regional heats of Masterchef. Love every minute in the kitchen, go for it guys. It makes the sex better as well, trust me.

it's not a job of the women, they are losing interest in this form of arts anyway

Men need to eat!!!
They all love se* and food.
Men would prefer a cooking wife than a trendy non cooking one ANY TIME!
But I do agree that sometimes man should cook as well if both are working.

The best way to a woman's heart is through their stomachs!
If, as a man , you can cook then why not? My wife is a Philippina and can cook pretty well, but she prefers me to cook for her at the moment as we have two baby boys. (wild ones!)
OK, I happen to have the time at the moment.
What I have observed though is when a woman cooks, they go about everything in a totally different way. This does not mean it is wrong, as long as it comes out properly,
If I cook though, I prefer to be in the kitchen alone…lol!
I think it is good, especially when kids are around…to share the family duties, of course, this is only possible if the husband has the free time!
I always appreciate it when my wife cooks. Yes it is nice to come home and have your meal ready on the table, but in today's society I think alot of the former "women-only" or "men-only" roles belong in the past!
Cheers! What is for dinner?

I'm a better cook, so it really doesn't bother me at all. I enjoy it too. A lot of guys I know do too.

I am not sure. I think it will depend on the parties (the house hold themselves) and not for others to see. But for me, personally, I think it would be much nicer to see if a woman does the kitchens things. You know…prepare the breakfast, lunch and so on.
As a matter of fact, it is one of their noble works or contributions her man, right? But then, it does not mean that it will be the woman who will do everything. It will be not only good for a man to help his woman in the kitchen yet it will be much more romantic. (I bet, everyone on earth…every couple really must have their own romantic moment in life even for once, right?)
Thus, even though nowadays, people may say that this kind of opinion is a kind of outdated, yet that is one of the basic things that has to be done particularly on the part of the woman. And that is why I said earlier that it will much depend on how you see your partner of life doing his or her kitchen jobs.

I have done the cooking for the past 12 years, my babe has cooked a few times but that was because I broke my back in a horse riding accident, but soon got back in the kitchen, my babe prefers my cooking (by the way I used to be a chef) so all is good in MY kitchen.

I enjoy cooking. Do most of it myself.
The girlfriend is a different nationality, and needs her own comfort food occasionally.
If it's special someone will take the initiative, we both like each others cooking. Or at least know what the other likes.
She won't go for a fry-up Sunday mornings though.
She'll make herself soup-noodles with a side of veg. and some stir fried fish.
Sometimes one of us will get cravings, but overall it's me who is in the kitchen.
And yes, I clean the kitchen too.
The kitchen is almost becoming the new man's workshop.
Still want a workshop though, if I had the room.

Not in my home,i believe that the food is the wife's department although i am prepared to help,it's better to share the load, you can make it a romantic experience for the both of you.!!!
I do agree with you thou, it is better that the woman do the cooking after all the way to a man heart is through is stomach.!!!

A womans place is in the kitchen.
They should teach them this at school from a very early age - they used to.
(I'm only kidding!) My wife can't cook for toffee, but she's brilliant at EVERYTHING else. So it's no hardship for me to do the meals.

It's nice if they can and do sometimes but men need to be able to as well these days, since a lot of women work too now.
Its really just another chore that needs to be shared between the household.

Obviously I am not one of the women you are talking about. I do 95 percent of the cooking in the house. I like cooking. Some men like cooking so asking if it is nicer for a woman to do the cooking depends on the man and the woman involved.

in our culture, men have been bombarded by the radical feminists that asking your wife to cook for you is a form of female castration. so they learned to do it on their own.
sure i'd prefer a woman who can cook, but that doesn't mean it's a requirement.

i love to cook and do the shopping to cook. When I was with my ex I always cooked him dinner during the week cos I finished work 2 hours before he did. He sometimes cooked at the weekends but that was just mainly because either he wanted a barbeque or just so I could honestly say that I didn't have to do all the cooking.

Actually my wife prefers it as I'm a better cook than she is. I quite enjoy cooking so what's the problem especially when youconsider the majority of the worlds best cooks are men

this depends on the lifestyle and always had….my grandfather was ill during the 60's and had to remain at home…where he became a house husband while my grandmother worked…
this was seen as unusual as the man was always expected to provide, while the woman's role was that as carer. nowadays roles are reversed along financial lines…

Women are better at multi-tasking, which is why they generally make better cooks. Less things get burned. Makes sense to me for women, in general, to do the cooking. These days, they're too committed to things outside the home to be bothered by doing something they're better suited for…such as taking care of a family. Generally speaking, of course. My wife is happy being a housewife…but she's not from the US. Women in this country (the US) have been duped into thinking they'll be happier doing something else.
